Jean St. Surin, known by his stage name HiJak, is a Haitian born singer-songwriter from The Bronx, NY. His passion for music began at a young age and was impacted by artists such as Wyclef Jean and Notorious B.I.G. Staying focused on his dream to become a “hookmaster” and his desire to share his music with the world helped to build the bridge to where he is today. Hijak’s work is a reflection of his heartfelt belief that the struggles in life give us meaning and purpose and that by remaining open to the influence of our surroundings we can turn our struggles into transformative tools.
